Phosphorus-Free Baking Powder

Preparation time:  5 minutes
Servings:  Makes about 1/2 cup (1 tsp = 1 serving)

Ingredients
Cream of tartar (6 tbsp)
Baking soda (2 tblsp)

Instructions
Sift the cream of tartar and baking soda together into a small bowl.  Transfer to an airtight jar and store in a cool location for up to one month.

Ingredient Tip:  Baking soda, or sodium bicarbonate, works as a leavening agent but also has many other uses around the house.  It can be helpful in soothing sunburned skin, as a tooth whitener and cleaner, and in various cleaning applications around the house.
